Richard Hollis FCCA has 20 years’ experience in the automotive industry. His prior background in manufacturing & engineering and then as a qualified accountant gives him a unique approach to automotive issues. He has applied his data driven insights in both the OEM and retailer environments as part of operational management across all areas of business, and in recent years he has specialised in Used Cars as a key driver of profit for retailers.

This unique background is carried into his consultancy approach, firstly looking at data-mining and analysis to unearth where the issues are, and to discover gaps in profitability, then looking at applying solutions to those discoveries through the use of simple tools and reporting that have an immediate impact. The most common areas of focus are hygiene issues – photography, advertising strategy, part-exchange management, and specifically stock strategy – profiling (or lack of it), pricing, purchasing and processing with a focus on identifying bottle-necks and resolving them.
